# StratCraft Refund Policy

At StratCraft, we strive to provide clear, dependable tools and services for building, testing, and validating trading-system workflows. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which you may request and receive a refund. We believe in transparency and want to ensure you understand our commitment to customer satisfaction.

## 1. EU/EEA Right of Withdrawal

**1.1 Digital Content Exemption**

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)), consumers in the EU/EEA are entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. However, this right does not apply to digital content or services once performance has begun, provided the consumer has:

1. **Expressly consented** to the immediate provision of the digital service before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period; and
2. **Acknowledged** that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal.

**1.2 Consent at Checkout**

During the subscription checkout process, you will be asked to confirm the following before gaining access to the service:

> "I expressly consent to the immediate provision of the digital service and acknowledge that I lose my 14-day right of withdrawal once the service has begun."

By providing this consent, you waive the statutory 14-day withdrawal right under EU/EEA law.

**1.3 Voluntary 7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee**

Notwithstanding the above waiver, StratCraft voluntarily provides a **7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee** as described in Section 2 below. This commercial guarantee is in addition to, and independent of, your statutory rights. Where applicable consumer protection laws provide stronger rights than this policy, those statutory rights shall prevail.

## 2. Refund Eligibility

**2.1 Refund Window (7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee)**

You may request a refund within **7 days** of your initial purchase date. This guarantee applies to both Monthly and Annual plans.

**2.2 Full Refund Conditions**

You are eligible for a **100% full refund** if your AI resource usage (Credits) is below **15%** of your first month's allocated quota within the 7-day window.

- **Monthly plan**: 15% of the monthly credit quota
- **Annual plan**: 15% of the first month's credit quota (not the full year). Full subscription fee refunded.

**2.3 Partial Refund (Fair Usage Policy)**

If your usage exceeds 15% within the first 7 days, we still honor the refund guarantee. However, we will deduct the cost of the actual resources consumed from the refund amount.

- All usage is unified into **Credits** as the single billing dimension
- Credits consumed directly from plan quota: counted at plan unit price
- Requests using your own API Key: each request incurs a fixed platform service fee, also counted as credit consumption

**Monthly Plan Refund Calculation:**

- **Unit Price** = Monthly Fee ÷ Monthly Credit Quota
- **Refund** = `Monthly Fee - (Consumed Credits × Unit Price)`

**Annual Plan Refund Calculation:**

- **Monthly Equivalent Fee** = Annual Fee ÷ 12
- **Unit Price** = Monthly Equivalent Fee ÷ Monthly Credit Quota
- **Refund** = `Annual Fee - (Consumed Credits × Unit Price)`
- The unit price is based on the actual discounted annual rate, not the original monthly price

**2.4 Valid Reasons for a Refund**

Refunds will also be considered for the following reasons regardless of the 7-day window:

- **Billing Errors**: Full refund of the overcharged or duplicate amount. Review completed within **5 business days** of request submission.
- **Technical Issues**: If the product consistently fails to function as advertised despite reasonable attempts through our support channels, we will review your case within **5 business days**. Refund amount determined based on severity and duration of the issue, up to a full refund.
- **Non-Delivery of Promised Features**: If key advertised features are confirmed missing or non-functional, eligible for a full refund. Review completed within **5 business days**.

**2.5 Reasons for Ineligibility**

Refunds will not be granted for the following reasons:

- **After 7 days**: The refund window has expired and none of the conditions in Section 2.4 apply
- **Change of Mind**: You simply decided you no longer want or need the product (subject to statutory withdrawal rights under Section 1)
- **Minor Issues**: The issue could be resolved through our customer support channels
- **Inadequate Review**: You did not thoroughly evaluate the product's features during the free trial or 7-day window
- **Repeat Claims**: Each account is eligible for the 7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee **only once**. Subsequent subscriptions (re-subscribe, plan change, renewal) are not eligible. This limitation applies per **individual** — accounts identified as belonging to the same person (by payment method, email, device, or other identifying information) are collectively entitled to only one 7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee

**2.6 One-Time Plugin / Desktop App Purchases (30-Day Money-Back Guarantee)**

Plugin and Desktop App purchases (one-time buyout) are governed by a separate refund policy, independent of the subscription 7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee above.

This guarantee is completely separate from and does not affect the subscription 7-Day Risk-Free Guarantee.

## 3. Refund Review Process

- All refund requests will be thoroughly reviewed to determine if they meet our eligibility criteria.
- We reserve the right to deny refund requests that do not comply with this policy.
- In some cases, we may offer alternative solutions, such as bonus credits or discounts on future subscriptions.

## 4. How to Request a Refund

1. Use the **"Cancel Plan"** option in your dashboard, or contact our customer support team at **support@stratcraft.ai**.
2. Provide your account email, subscription plan, and a brief explanation of your reason for requesting a refund.
3. Our team will review your request and respond within **5 business days**.

## 5. Refund Processing Time

- Approved refunds will be processed within **10-15 business days** and credited back to your original payment method (Stripe).

## 6. Post-Refund Account Handling

- **Subscription termination**: Your paid subscription will be terminated immediately upon refund approval. Access to premium features will cease at that time.
- **Data retention**: Your account data (strategies, backtest results, configurations) will be retained for **30 days** after refund. You may re-subscribe within this period to restore full access. After 30 days, data will be permanently deleted.
- **Bonus credits clawback**: Any bonus credits granted as part of the subscription (e.g., annual plan bonus credits) will be revoked upon refund.
- **Account status**: Your account will remain active as a free-tier account (if available), but all paid-plan privileges will be removed.

## 7. Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

- All paid subscriptions are set to **automatically renew** at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually).
- To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, cancel your subscription at least **24 hours** before the renewal date.
- You can manage or cancel auto-renewal from **Settings → Subscription Management** in your account dashboard, or by contacting support at **support@stratcraft.ai**.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until that date.

## 8. Non-Refundable Items

- Consumed AI Credits/Tokens (deducted from partial refunds as described in Section 2.3)
- Prepaid API Credit top-ups (see [API Credits Top-Up Terms](api-credits-terms.md) for complete terms)
- One-time setup fees or custom integration services (i.e., bespoke implementation work; this does **not** include Plugin or Desktop App purchases, which are covered by the 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee in Section 2.6)

## 9. Financial Disclaimer

StratCraft provides AI-assisted quantitative trading **research, validation, and educational tools only**. The service does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or trading recommendations.

- All trading and investment decisions are made solely by the user
- Past performance of any strategy or backtest result is **not indicative of future results**
- Trading involves substantial risk of loss, including the possibility of loss exceeding your initial investment
- **Trading losses, unsatisfactory investment returns, or strategy underperformance are not valid grounds for a refund**
- By subscribing, you acknowledge that you understand and accept these risks

## 10. Taxes

10.1. All subscription fees displayed on the pricing page are **exclusive of taxes** unless explicitly stated otherwise. Applicable taxes — including but not limited to Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), sales tax, or other government-imposed levies — will be calculated automatically based on your billing address and added to your payment at checkout.

10.2. Tax rates are determined by your billing address jurisdiction and are calculated by our payment processor (Stripe) in accordance with local tax laws. StratCraft does not control tax rates and is not responsible for changes in tax rates imposed by governmental authorities.

10.3. If you are a business customer with a valid Tax ID or VAT registration number, you may enter it during checkout or in your account billing settings. Where applicable, valid Tax IDs may exempt you from certain taxes in accordance with local regulations (e.g., EU B2B reverse charge mechanism).

10.4. **Tax treatment of refunds**: When a refund is issued under this policy, any taxes collected on the original transaction will be refunded proportionally along with the subscription fee. The refund amount stated in Section 2 refers to the pre-tax subscription fee; applicable tax refunds are processed automatically in addition to that amount.

10.5. You are responsible for any tax obligations that may arise in your jurisdiction in connection with the use of StratCraft services, except for taxes based on StratCraft's net income.

## 11. Force Majeure

StratCraft shall not be held liable for delays in refund processing caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: payment processor outages (e.g., Stripe), banking system delays, natural disasters, government actions, cyberattacks, or other force majeure events. We will resume normal processing as soon as reasonably practicable and notify affected users of any significant delays.

## 12. Policy Updates

- We will provide at least **30 days' advance notice** of material changes to this policy via email to your registered account address.
- Minor updates (formatting, clarifications that do not affect your rights) may be made without prior notice and will be reflected by an updated Version number and Effective Date.
- Continued use of the service after the effective date of a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
- This policy does not limit any consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
